Got Myself a Limited Edition Riddler BE@RBRICK (only 1,500 made)

As you know I have started to collect Riddler paraphernalia and stuff mentioned previously with my ‘Riddler Power Plant’ and ‘The Batman, Riddler Action Figure’ along with some stuff I have got for my kids.

Well I have got myself this DC Superpowers Riddler from BE@RBRICK which was released at 2013 San Diego ComicCon (July 18-21) by Medicom Toy.

(not mine as mines is till in packaging)

The BE@RBRICK was limited to only 1500 and so I am chuffed I managed to get one.

In 2012 they released the Joker from The Dark Knight Returns and followed suit in 2013 wit Riddler.

Be@rbrick is a collectible toy designed and produced by the Japanese company MediCom Toy Incorporated.

The name is derived from the fact that the figure is a cartoon-style representation of a bear, and that it is a variation of MediCom’s Kubrick design.

The at sign (@) in the place of the letter a is a visual device that is a part of the Bearbrick brand, and as such, a trademark of MediCom Toy.

The figure is an anthropomorphized bear with an extremely simplified form and a pot belly. Each plastic figure features nine parts (widely referred to as tools in the toy industry): head, torso, hips, arms, hands, and legs; These nine tools allow eight points of articulation: swivel head, swivel waist, ball joint arms, swivel wrists, and ball joint legs.

The first figure was released 27 May 2001 as a free gift to visitors of the World Character Convention 12 in Tokyo. Since then Bearbricks have been released in several different sizes using a variety of materials, including wood, felt, and glow-in-the-dark plastic.

Gotham Cast Edward Nygma – Cory Michael Smith

HE IS HERE!!!!!!

According to Gotham has its Mr Nygma.

The DC Comic/Warner Brothers show beign made by FOX TV has cast Cory Michael Smith.

Deadline says:

“Cory Michael Smith has joined the cast of Gothamas Edward Nygma, the DC Comics character destined to become future supervillain The Riddler. In the prequel drama from Fox and WBTV, Nygma is a brilliant but socially awkward forensic scientist who’s eccentric and outgoing and desperate to be liked. Smith has a guest role in the pilot and might become a series regular on the hourlong drama exec produced by Bruno Heller, which stars Ben McKenzie as young Gotham City cop James Gordon. Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett Smith, Zabryna Guevara, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, David Mazouz, and Camren Bicondova also star. Smith is coming off of HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge with Frances McDormand and turns in Todd Haynes’ Carol, opposite Cate Blanchett, and Camp X-Ray with Kristen Stewart. Smith is repped by Paradigm and Circle of Confusion.”

Going by looks I think he is perfect and I cannot wait.

Welcome and good luck in playing the GREATEST villain of all time.

The Riddler’s Appearance in The Big Bang Theory

Remember that time The Riddler appeared in The Big Bang Theory?

Ok well technically he didn’t appear properly but a life size cardboard cut-out did.

As mentioned before I LOVE this show and had a post earlier with a picture of my daughter in her Riddler shirt which is the same one as Sheldon wears in the show.

In the episode 7.3 The Scavenger Vortex Raj after being disappointed at the lack of enthusiasm for his murder mystery evenings organises a scavenger hunt which has a mix of clues and puzzles.

I am not going to get into episode as it’s the Big Bang Theory so you should be watching it anyways but there is a scene in the episode where the teams which are partnered up after randomly picking names out end up as Sheldon and Penny, Howard and Amy and finally Leonard and Bernadette all end up at Stuarts comic book store.

At the comic book store the puzzle is a riddle offered by Batman’s nemesis, YOU GUESSED IT, The Riddler.

Here watch.

It really is a brilliant fully episode and just happens to feature the greatest villain of all time in any form.

Batman 1966 Show Creator Lorenzo Semple Jr Dies aged 91 (R.I.P SIR)

Its well-known that I am a MASSIVE fan of the 1966 Batman show and especially the Frank Gorshin portrayed Riddler from it. robin_riddler

Its with sadness that I tell you that Lorenzo Semple Jr who was one of the creators and main people behind the show has died aged 91.

While living in Spain in 1965, Semple was approached by producer William Dozier to develop a television series for ABC based on the comic book Batman.

Semple wrote a pilot which was promptly picked up, and the series based on it put on the air, with popular success.

He wrote the first four episodes and also served as Executive Story Editor, a capacity in which he put his writing imprint on all of the first season’s scripts, and at the same time provided the screenplay for the 1966 Batman feature film version.

He has a huge role in the show and in the Batman history in general.

At 91 I suppose he had some good innings but our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Wally Wingert as Riddler Audio from Batman: Arkham Knight leaked (Kevin Conroy too)

Here is a seven minute plus audio recording for the game Batman: Arkham Knight with Wally Wingert as Riddler which has leaked online from a trade show.

You can also hear Kevin Conroy as Batman too but we have heard him being Batman loads of time before.

Wally has played Edward Nigma/The Riddler in this being his fourth game with the previous being Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Origins.

I only just found this out also but he plays the voice of Renji Abarai in the Anime Bleach which I love as well as a whole lot move voice over work in TV, Movies and Game.
